The Black Boar Inn

Nestled in the village of Kirkintilloch, this quaint medieval inn welcomes guests inside its warm, cozy walls. But it is rumored there is a secretive back room where the Brotherhood of the Sacred Shield, men of mystery, meet to solve the most dastardly murders.

Meet the Inn's tavern workers:

Master Thornton (Thorn, to his comrades) will greet ye with a grunt as he orders his workers to serve ye quickly. He might be a wee bit cantankerous, but he'll take yer coin.
Downey (Tavern server) He shall wait on ye but be warned, he is a sullen lad. Do not expect a smile, mirthful greeting, or pleasantries. And whatever ye do, do not ask him what's wrong--or ye shall hear his life story.
Crisp (Inn Overseer) He takes care of the Inn but he also is the manservant, runner, and messenger for the Brotherhood of the Sacred Shield.

Series Introduction

Murders in the Highlands have added to the lawlessness in the north after Robert the Bruce gained independence for Scotland. The king sends his daughter Christina to assemble the most brilliant minds to solve these heinous crimes. A brotherhood of men, each with unique abilities, use their keen investigative skills to ferret out the wrongdoers.
